São Paulo FC announced Victor Sá on Wednesday, but the striker has yet to make his debut with the team. On Saturday, the new signing missed the friendly game against RB Bragantino, held in Atibaia, and stayed in the capital to work on his physical conditioning.
What happened?
Victor Sá suffered a hip injury on March 21 this year, when Krasnodar beat Pari NN 5-0 in the Russian Championship. The physical problem kept the Brazilian out of action for 62 days.
Why didn't he play?
Victor Sá's absence is part of the technical team's plan to help the player recover his best physical condition and game rhythm. The striker needs to readapt physically and regain his game rhythm before being available to coach Dorival Júnior.
Victor Sá's career path
Born in São José dos Campos (SP), Victor Sá started his career in the youth categories of Primeira Camisa and Palmeiras before making his professional debut with São José dos Campos FC. Soon after, he moved to European football, where he gained prominence playing for Kapfenberger SV and LASK Linz in Austria.
What's next?
Victor Sá signed a contract with São Paulo FC until the end of 2029 and joins the team to reinforce the offense for the rest of the season. At 32 years old, the striker is expected to make his debut with the Tricolor soon, after completing his physical preparation.
