São Paulo FC is set to elect a new president in the first half of December. The dispute for the command of the club is moving the backstage of Morumbi well before the vote.
Who are the candidates?
The situation has not yet defined who will be its candidate. Harry Massis maintains the speech that he assumed the presidency in a transitional way, but does not rule out running for a full term.
What's at stake?
The election will define who will manage the Tricolor from 2027 to 2029. The situation and the opposition will have two decisive stages: the choice of new lifelong counselors, between July and August, and the election of new counselors, scheduled for November.
How does the election work?
The Deliberative Council is composed of 249 counselors, divided into nine political groups, in addition to the independents. They will be responsible for choosing the next president of the club.
| Group | Number of Counselors |
|---|---|
| Vanguarda | 19 |
| Legião | 38 |
| Participação | 33 |
| Sempre Tricolor | 17 |
| Somos SPFC | 29 |
| Super | 4 |
| Força | 23 |
| Salve o Tricolor Paulista | 41 |
| Novo São Paulo | 26 |
What comes next?
The choice of new lifelong counselors is treated as a strategic stage of the political dispute. The internal evaluation is that the Consultative Council tends to indicate a majority of names aligned with the opposition, a scenario that could reduce the advantage that exists today of the situation.
